The Club would like to express sincere sympathy to the family of Hugh O’Brien who died last week. Also to the family of Kitty Harty formerly of Waterloo Cottage, Kilcommon, whose remains, were returned to Cahir cemetery for burial last week. The Harty family were very involved in Cahir GAA back in the 1940s. May they rest in peace?

The Club would like to congratulate Cahir Ladies football Club on celebrating 25 very successful years at a function in Cahir House Hotel on Friday night last. Hopefully the Club will continue to go from strength to strength.

Our under 21 Football team is due to start its championship next weekend. Training continues on Friday nights.

A Great Week for the U17 Footballers
On Monday last, 17th October, Cahir U17s played their first Football Championship match against Clonmel Og in Ned Hall Park. This was a confidence boosting performance by the young team and a good win for the boys. Final score 3-13 to 0-7.

On Sunday, 23rd October, the second game in the group took place on the Main Field against Ardfinnan. Cahir got off to the better start and led at half time 1-06 to 0-2. The second half proved a tougher battle but the boys fought back and held their nerve to win the game on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-5.

The U11s hosted a Cork v Tipperary Football Blitz on Saturday morning 22nd October in Duneske. Four teams from Ballincollig in Cork travelled up to play two teams from Cahir and two teams from Fethard. It was a wonderful occasion for all involved and a great collaborative effort from the boys and the coaches from Cahir and Fethard.

The U13 South Hurling Trials for the academy squad have now concluded. Congratulations to Travis McLoughlin on progressing to the Camida South Tipperary Hurling Academy for 2022. Travis will play in a Challenge game on Tuesday night 25th October against Mid Tipp in Drombane.

The U14 South Hurling Trials commenced on Friday 21st October in Dr. Morris Park. Three boys from Cahir are taking part in these trials. This does not include the two boys selected from last year’s trials Liam Kelly and Euan Magee. Liam and Euan have been selected for a winter Strength and Conditioning programme with Tipperary Academy. They will not be taking part in trials or playing Inter Divisional Competition. Well done boys.
